Thankfully stills are what I care about more in my phone camera(the 4x zoom specifically), so I'm pleased with the Pixel 6 Pro camera. Pretty incredible what the iPhone can do with video still, would be tempted to jump ship if I was looking more at video than stills. The good news with the Pixel 6 Pro though is the hardware is already leaps and bounds ahead, Google is fully capable of coming back to it and updating the software and squeeze even more out of it. At least I hope they do lol.
I have a feeling that some of the Pixel shortcomings can be addressed with software updates. That said the A15’s power allows for real-time processing of photos and videos which is a huge advantage. I’m hoping that with future Tensor releases we can see increased power.
This came up automatically while watching some Pixel videos and I just wanted to say that I moved from the Pixel 3XL to the Pixel 6 this month, and I got extremely excited about the camera. The pictures I took looked stellar. The background blurring in portrait mode seems to be much smarter this round and was able to figure out my curly hair and has finally stopped getting confused about where my head begins and ends. So I was really surprised that when I was posting picture comparisons excitedly on Facebook and looked at them myself... I didn't really notice a huge noticeable difference? Maybe I should put those photos on my actual computer and look at them. Facebook isn't exactly the place to see photo quality LOL. But as an artist it really disappointed me that I was struggling to see a difference at all in that context, since Facebook is often my main source of exposure for any photos I take of my artwork.
